Galehead’s efforts to develop low-cost clean energy generation resources has resulted in the origination of its largest project to date. The “Elk Creek” project is sited to serve ambitious renewable energy and low-carbon targets for regional utilities and load customers.
The “Sparta Campaign” is an internal initiative of Galehead to increase penetration and drive down costs of clean energy resources through economies of scale and intelligent siting. The campaign resulted in over 1 GW of new development projects located throughout WECC and MISO.
Elk Creek is located in MISO spanning over 2,000 acres and will include 300 MWh of battery energy storage. The interconnection study schedule indicates a commercial operation date in 2023-2024.
